My cat likes to sit on the bed and watch me jack off. He does it all the time. It totally creeps me out, especially when he starts chirping and chattering at me. It's like, "Hello, I'm a little busy at the moment. Forgive me, but I'm thinkin' now's really not the time to have a heart-to-heart. Stop fucking looking at me!"

Does anyone else have this problem? Do you kick your pets out of the bedroom (or the garage, or the laundry room, etc.) when you have sex?

As ASB President, it's my responsibility to write a welcome letter that will be printed on the inside cover of the student handbook. I know it's an honor, but right know, all it feels like is a fucking pain in my ass. I've put it off and put it off, and it's due Monday. I'm even posting this entry as a way to keep procrastinating.

Maybe a nap will help me feel better.

P.S. - I didn't get that dick in my ass that I so desperately wanted needed, and I am pissed off about that. I thought LiveJournal delivered.

Heading back to the ocean in the morning for a couple of days. While we are there, my team will come up with our goals and expectations for the year. CAB (Campus Activities Board) is also going. Some activities we will do together, but most of the training will be done separately, as we are two very different groups. CAB is responsible for putting together a lot of great events throughout the year, while we (Senate) are the governing body. We've all been training and getting to know each other the past couple of days, which has been fun. There are a couple of people I'm already concerned about, but I guess that will help keep me on my toes. Many of them, even some on CAB, seem to be deferring to me already. (CAB doesn't have the hierarchal structure that we do.) I think that both my age and my previous experience on Senate, as Vice President of Administration and Finance, help create a natural sort of leadership and distinction in their minds. Those two factors should definitely work to my advantage. There's one senator that I'm already fascinated with and amazed by. This person will do great things (as will everybody). Anyway, off to pack!

So, I've been on this equipment budget advisory committee for a couple of months now. This isn't the (student funds) committee I chaired, but a committee for budgeting college money. Dr. Pumphrey (our college's president) appointed me, and I am, unfortunately, the only student out of a group of 30. Why is that unfortunate? Well, I'll tell you. We saw 41 presentations from departments all across campus. I have the proposals, almost 300 pages of them, to evaluate (using a scoring rubric) by the end of tomorrow. I'm having a hard time with some of the requests. For example, the college wants a Prius. Now, I am not one to be green just for the sake of being green. I am, in fact, the earth's worst enemy. However, the purchase of the Prius would lessen our reliance on using the state's motor pool, thereby saving money. Also, we reimburse mileage at the rate of 0.505 (something like that) per mile, which added up to about $40,000 last year. That savings sounds good, but I have no idea who will reap the rewards. Will students get some of the shit they need? Will the college buy another Prius? Will Deans and Vice Presidents get a fucking raise?

So, here's one small example why it's bad to be the only student: Our anatomy and physiology classes have ONE muscle model. The students are tested on whether or not they can identify all of the muscles on sight. (They detach from the main part of the model.) Anyway, when I took anatomy and physiology this summer at a different school, our lab had multiple models, and there were some in the library that you could check out for a couple of hours. Our school has one. Period. I would be so pissed if I had to take a test and had been unable to study adequately because there was only ONE muscle model for the entire school. That's just a single example. So, it's frustrating for me, when I see a request to spend $25,478.24 (and an additional $17,287.96 per year in maintenance costs) so that the Deans and Vice Presidents can all have Blackberrys. I don't think a lot of college employees really focus on the students; that's why I'm not happy that I'm the only one on the committee.

Anyway, back to work!

So, I finally got my new computer set up, and it is total badass.

AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-Core Processor 2.20 GHz
Vista Home Premium (64-Bit)
5.00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8400
24" Widescreen Flat-Panel Monitor with BrightView Panel

Needless to say, I'm lovin' it!

I'll post a real entry later; I want to play for a bit first.

In the morning, we are heading to the ocean for a couple of days. We rented a beach house in Ocean City. I need to do some serious relaxing, as I start training my new VP for Administration and Finance Monday morning. I met William, briefly, a couple of months ago; he seems like a dedicated guy, which is what I need in a right hand. All I've been told about my VP for Clubs and Organizations is that she's bright, outgoing, bossy, and going to give me a run for my money. Give me a week; I'll break the bitch's spirit, no problem. Kidding. I crack myself up. The Senator for Legislative Affairs is the one person who wanted my job but actually ended up on Senate in a different position. I met my Senator for Multicultural Affairs at Club Fair yesterday, and I already know my Senator for Administrative Affairs. He's a 16-year-old Running Start student. I can't remember anything about the new Senator for Public Affairs. Wow, I've never managed people before, but on July 1st, I'll have a team of six for an entire year. Keeping them happy, cohesive, engaged, respectful (to each other), motivated, along with helping ALL of us grow beyond what we currently think is possible is an endeavor I'm prepared to dive into head first. But, first things first...the ocean awaits.
